100 Rest 2009-06-30

eating at the trailhead

After coming out of Chicago Basin we needed a rest. We were tired but still needed to drive a few hours. Luckily, Jon and Laura had found a camping site. We cruised in late that night and crashed. No supper, just sleep.

Jake was as tired as us. He too had had a big day and needed rest.

We surveyed our bodies and spirits and decided we needed a day off, just to rest. It seems we are only able to do about seven days in a row without a break. Hopefully we can get a little bit stronger.

After our rest day, we were rejuvenated enough to climb Sneffles and are headed west to the Wilsons for the last two San Juan mountains. We are going to try them together. Looks like a good day, but we could not have even considered doing the pair together without rest.

Eating, drinking, and rest fuels our climbs. We need all three.

Wish you were here.
