Smelly Socks

My wife, Amy, complains about my smelly socks. I don't know, I wash my feet and change sock regularly; but my feet smell. We spend a chunk of change each month to buy the latest and greatest foot powders, deodorizers, and remedies and yet the smelly socks still rule the bedroom.

Now, from Live Science, we find that smelly socks might serve a higher purpose....

"The stinky smell of sweaty socks might repulse humans, but scientists now find it enthralls mosquitoes and spiders.

The odor apparently helps the creatures hunt down their victims — the mosquitoes want to feed on people, while the spiders prefer to devour the mosquitoes."

(Live Science)

This might be a new way to fight mosquito borne diseases like malaria.

All I need to do is to send my smelly socks to Africa to help fight diseases. We have wasted all that money trying to eliminate that smell when we really could be saving the world...

Smokys

This morning, I am planning on hiking LeConte. When I return, I am sure that I will have socks worthy of saving the world. Ha!
